City Wide Median Turf Reduction and Modernization

Costa Mesa, CA

 

The City allocated funds for the removal of turf and replacement with low-water-use, drought-tolerant plants with low maintenance, and efficient irrigation within the city-wide medians mostly with existing mature trees nd massive root systems. The plants were chosen to respect the existing landscape fabric of the community while also achieving the goal of reduced water consumption. The new plantings add texture and color and visually enhance the character of the neighborhoods.
